SAP Logistics Management

SAP Logistics Management: logistics from the cloud, in one system

Not every company needs the full depth of SAP EWM and SAP TM. For smaller and mid-complex sites, the SAP world has so far been rather too heavy. SAP Logistics Management closes this gap: a cloud solution that bundles warehouse management, transport planning and carrier collaboration into one application.

Overview

What defines LGM

LGM runs exclusively as SaaS on the SAP Business Technology Platform; there is no on-premise variant. That means: no operations of your own, no classic upgrades, feature updates arrive on a two-week cadence. The warehouse functions cover picking, packing, shipping and warehouse layout, the transport functions route planning, carrier selection and shipment tracking. Mobile apps for Android and iOS bring the workflows to the floor.

An implementation project typically sits in the range of four to eight weeks, much faster than a classic EWM or TM implementation. That is the price and the advantage at once: less depth, but productive quickly.

Where it fits

Who LGM is for and who it isn't

LGM fits when your warehouse and transport processes are manageably complex, you want a cloud solution without operations of your own, and you need an SAP standard quickly. LGM does not fit when you control automated warehouse technology via a material flow system, map highly individual processes or run large, highly complex sites. In that case, EWM and TM are the right choice.

Drawing that line clearly is the real consulting value. We don't sell you the biggest project, but the right one, sometimes also a combination of LGM and EWM across different sites.

Services

What we actually do

We check with you whether LGM or rather EWM/TM fits your sites, implement SAP LGM, connect it to your SAP ERP (today SAP Cloud ERP Private; the connection to the public cloud is announced for the second half of 2026) and set up the mobile workflows on the floor.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between SAP LGM and SAP EWM?

EWM is the deep warehouse management system for complex and automated warehouses. LGM is the lean cloud solution for smaller and mid-complex sites that combines warehouse and transport in one system.

Is LGM available on-premise too?

No. LGM is available exclusively as cloud SaaS on the SAP BTP.

How long does an LGM implementation take?

Typically four to eight weeks, depending on scope and data. That is much faster than an EWM or TM implementation.

We have several sites of different sizes. What now?

A combination is often sensible: LGM for the smaller sites, EWM for the complex central warehouse. We look at the sites individually rather than forcing one solution across all of them.
